2009 Race

UPDATE: There will be no Swamp Stomp 30-Hour Adventure Race in 2009.

Look for updates on a club/mock race that same weekend to be held in the Ocala area.

Hopefully, after a year of "rest", Jessica and I will be up for staging another official Swamp Stomp 30-Hour Adventure Race in 2010. If we do, we hope to see you all there for the reincarnation.

Feb 14 Alachua Stomp:
As you heard, there is no 2009 Swamp Stomp (we are taking a break this winter). However, we are working with Mark Schweder (a SS veteran) to put together a no-frills 30 hour Rogaine Style Course on Saturday February 14, in Gainesville/Paine’s Prairie area, called Alachua Stomp.
Its not a “Swamp Stomp” but it will be a great adventure with a lot of the same themes. The race will be entirely self-sufficient: you provide bikes, boats, all gear, food, water. This is NOT a sanctioned event and there is no event insurance. The only volunteers on the course will be at one main transition area. WeCeFAR will provide maps, instructions, permit fees, and perhaps pizza at end of event.
There is NO ENTRY FEE but advanced sign up is required (so we have maps).
It is a beautiful area and what we have seen of the course so far looks great! It will be a great adventure at an even better price (Free!). More information coming but mark your calendars now! Sorry its Valentine’s Day but wanted to keep it on President’s Day Weekend.
